This project included a complete kitchen and master bedroom renovation with a small addition for a new laundry area.  An earlier renovation presented several construction challenges to overcome due to poor workmanship.  The owners did a great job as overseeing the work as their own general contractor.  The revised kitchen layout required the most structural work, but the final product provides a more open feeling that is functional and more efficient.  The master bedroom was expanded by claiming a portion of a hallway for additional closet space as well as the room’s entry point.  The existing master bath was completely reorganized for better functionality and use of natural lighting.  The exterior finishes were updated using cementitious siding and additional masonry, but the building’s original design vernacular was maintained.
