MMill City Town Centre Retail is a 6,000 square foot shell retail originally design as a part of the Mill Town Centre master plan.  As part of a scope reduction, the retail space was redesigned to stand alone and accommodate the space requirements for the incoming tenant – My Children’s Pediatric Care.

This steel structure uses synthetic stone, stucco, split-faced CMU, and a bronze aluminum storefront system as its main design elements.   The fenestration was reinforced with security film and steel channels to improve tenant security without the use of bars and the negative connotations that come with them.  The building uses a single-ply PVC roofing system and is fully sprinklered.  The landscape was designed to be lush uses plantings indigenous to the climate.

The goal was to create a professional building that blended in with the neighborhood while making its own design statement.  The exterior materials and color selections take cues from the surroundings structures.  Too often neighborhood developments are monuments unto themselves.  We wanted the building to complement the environment in a manner that was respectful and durable – something that would age gracefully.   We are proud of the end product.
