DPI gives its 1st Scholarship!

On May 20, 2016, DPI presented the Anna B. Moore Divine Purpose Scholarship to Mr. Kendrick Crawford, graduate from the Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy (BOMLA) in Dallas, Texas.  This marked the start of our pledge to provide academic assistance each year to a selected student through The Divine Purpose Initiative.

The Divine Purpose Initiative (DPI) was founded by Jeffrey L Bennett of Design Principles Inc. in 2015. Its evolving mission focuses on providing support to youth in several areas including Music, Art, Creative Expression, Leadership, and Social Responsibility; in hopes of helping them find their divine purpose in life. Although the initiative serves all youth, the DPI will have a particular focus on developing young Black Men into great Men of the Moment and doing so with Honor.

Mr. Crawford, our first scholarship award recipient,  will train to become a United States Merchant Marine with plans to become a full Naval Officer.  The Principal & Administrative Staff at BOMLA were proud to nominate Mr. Crawford for the award.  We are honored to have him as our first recipient and wish him well in all of his endeavors.
