This Project consists of renovating spaces within an existing two-story residential structure. The design vernacular of the new interior spaces and exterior are in-keeping with the mid-1920s style of the existing structure – but with contemporary touches to “modernize” the overall look.    The renovations  include a completely reworked kitchen to provide a more functional cooking area, additional pantry storage, larger refrigerator accommodations, an apron sink, and other miscellaneous amenities.   The rear bedroom was revised to create a master bedroom.  Approximately 400sf was added to the building rear for a new master bath and closet area.  A new stairway was added to take better advantage of the existing attic loft.  Additional attic space is also being converted for an additional bedroom or entertainment area.  The building is located in the Hollywood Santa Monica Conservation District, so care was taken to maintain compliance with the prevailing design restrictions.
